Opening a Swiss franc account as a cross-border worker

Your salary is paid in Swiss francs. Having an account in this currency lets you choose when and how to convert your money into euros, instead of putting up with your bank's rate.

In short
  • Three options: a Swiss bank, a French bank that offers a franc account, or an online service.
  • Compare account fees, transfer fees and the exchange rate.
  • Then give your new bank details to your employer.

The three options

  2. Compare at least two options on three criteria: monthly fees, transfer fees to your euro account, exchange rate.
  3. Open the account, then send your new bank details to your employer's HR department.
